My dear friend, welcome on board. This fast is about abstaining from doing the thing (s) God has put on your heart for 40 days. Some people are not going to watch TV, some people are shutting down their What’s App, some people are not eating a particular food item as we pray every single day seeking God’s face.

Organize time to pray in the morning and in the evening and make each prayer session at least 45 mins long. It is a time of sacrifice, let’s aim to spend much more time with God than we usually do. Let the Holy Spirit push you, it will not be in vain. If you can spend 1 hour to pray and worship in the morning, 1 hour in the evening or at night that will be awesome.

Time to appropriate God’s Word. 2018 is a Year of Victories!

Today’s Word:

How many times do we disqualify ourselves from stepping into what God has for us because of our weaknesses and fears?

When we fear or are weak in one area or the other we tend to disqualify ourselves.

I have learned and continue to learn that we cannot disqualify ourselves for what God has qualified us for!

God has qualified you and I for this blessing. When he said it was going to be a Year Of Victories, let him turn your crisis into a victory, he qualified you that very moment. That word was his promise for this year and we can come and appropriate it.

You have been qualified to see something that is a crisis in your life be turned into a victory by God. I don’t know about you but I am jumping for joy at this news. We have a father who loves us and blessed be his glorious name.

Let’s look at whether these people God used in the bible were perfect:

Peter denied Jesus

Gideon was afraid

Jonah ran away from God

Moses had a speech problem

David committed adultery and murder

Rahab was a prostitute

The list of imperfect people goes on.

Yesterday we said that we should live from every word that proceeds from God’s mouth (Matthew 4:4), we should put every word he says in our lives, and this is what he says:

“For You will light my lamp;
The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 For by You I can run against a troop,
By my God I can leap over a wall.
30 As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” Psalm 18:28-30

What a powerful verse! Instead of disqualifying ourselves we have to take a stand and trust God that he is going to help us.

In everything we do we must trust God anyway, we are never above God, he is always our cover and we always need him.

How many conditions do you think you need to meet to be blessed by God?

I believe when God says the time has come then he is right. Read that again.

When God speaks he is right.

Let’s look at God fixing the fear, weakness and sin of two people in the bible and why we must not say no to God and hide before finding out what he can do about the problem:

When the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah he presented his perspective to God, he said:

““Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”” Jeremiah 1:6.

“But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:7-10.

What did God do? He reached out his hand and touched Jeremiah’s mouth to put the words in his mouth. Just like that God fixed it.

The second person is Isaiah.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:5-8.

“…your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for”, God said!

The message of God to us is: ‘Become the Isaiah of this century, become the Jeremiah of this century.’

Become the one that God will send for his work and great things will happen in people’s lives all around the world. To get there receive victory over what is stopping you.

The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness” (Psalm 18:28), “By my God I can leap over a wall” (Psalm 18:29), Yes, by my God I can spring over a wall, I don’t need to disqualify myself.

While repentance is essential and learning from our mistakes, remember then there is what he has planned next. God is moving right now and we are part of it! We are going to reap what he says.

Lord I pray with confidence today that you are going to give each person fasting what you said. I know you are the most powerful God in the entire universe and I have no doubt in him. Your power is more powerful than what has attacked this person’s life and you are so easily going to take it down in the name of Jesus. I pray that just as you touched Isaiah and Jeremiah’s mouths you touch and bless our mouths individually today with a powerful testimony that we will speak this year in the mighty name of Jesus, amen!

War praise, sing.
